FELA! promotion running to help Ziggy Marley charity

The Fela Kuti webstore is currently running a promotion with the amazing charity run by Ziggy Marley, U.R.G.E. If you enter the coupon, “africaunite” with your purchase from the Fela store, 20% of the cost of your items will be donated to U.R.G.E. from now to February 8th.

Ziggy Marley became involved with the Kuti family after taking family and friends to see the FELA! on Broadway musical for the second time. The FELA! cast and producers, in association with Knitting Factory Records, began discussing a way to become involved in supporting Ziggy’s U.R.G.E. charity.

Founded by Ziggy Marley, U.R.G.E. is an organization that supports education, health, and the environment where children live and grow in areas of need, including Jamaica and Africa. Not only is U.R.G.E. action-based, donating items and assistance to children, but it is also an awareness-based charity, drawing attention to communities in need and researching solutions and political landscapes.
